  ON SECURITY POLICIES

Parents/Guardians/Nannies (Yayas)/Fetchers in the Campus
• Parents, guardians, nannies (yayas) or fetchers are requested to wear decent attires. Wearing of slippers, shorts, sandos, mini-skirts and other skimpy outfit or revealing attire is discouraged.
• Parents, guardians, nannies (yayas) or fetchers staying inside the campus are strictly prohibited. Parents, guardians, nannies (yayas) or fetchers are allowed to stay only at the designated waiting or holding area at the Lorenzo Ruiz/Side gate and should refrain from roaming around the campus during class hours.
• Feeding of PLC students may only be done during the allotted time (11:00AM to 12:20PM at the Food Palace, Tent City and the temporary BB canteen only. Please vacate these areas soon after feeding to give way to other students who also need to eat. Our facilities for eating are primarily intended for students. Everyone is also advised that the school maintains a “no styro” and “clean-as-you-go” (CLAYGO) policy.
• The Hasyenda is intended for students’ use during recess, lunch break, and for class activities. No parent, guardian, nannies (yayas) will be allowed in the Hasyenda area.
• Tutorial services are not allowed within the Hasyenda and kiosks or gazebo areas.
• For feeding and bringing of food, parents, guardians and nannies(yayas) may only enter the school at the Lorenzo Ruiz/Side gate.
• For security purposes, fetchers are required to secure their Fetcher's ID. The corresponding Fetcher's ID application form must be duly accomplished.
• Fetcher’s ID is used for fetching purposes only. It should not be used as ID for entry inside the campus.
• Smoking and bringing in of alcoholic beverages or prohibited drugs within school premises are strictly prohibited.
• There is a canteen concessionaire and a bookstore in campus authorized to sell food and school items. Parents, guardians, fetchers and nannies (yayas) are not allowed to sell any merchandise inside the campus.
• Official transactions with faculty and staff must be done only in the receiving area of the school. For those with official transactions, an Appointment Slip must be secured from the College Lobby Security Office and must be duly signed by the faculty/staff and surrendered before exit.
• The College Lobby is not a courtesy booth/baggage counter. All items left by students at home shall be endorsed to the respective Year Level Moderators. Leaving food and perishable items at the guard posts at the College Lobby, HLS Lobby and Lorenzo Ruiz/Side Gate is highly discouraged.

Pick Up of Students
• The school is responsible for the students thirty (30) minutes before and thirty (30) minutes after the actual class hours. Students must therefore be dropped off and picked up within the appointed time.
• It is recommended that parents, guardians, nannies (yayas) or fetchers vacate the waiting or holding area at the Lorenzo Ruiz/Side gate during dismissal once the student/s being fetched are accounted for. This will free up space for other students waiting for their fetchers.
• If a student will be picked up late, the parent or guardian should advise the Office of the Principal accordingly.
• Only those with a Fetcher's ID are authorized to pick up students.
• If a person other than the authorized fetcher will pick up a student, he or she must present an authorization letter or a written note from the parent or guardian. This will likewise be subject to verification by the school administration.
• For security purposes, DLSL reserves the right to hold the release of a student and verify with the child's parent or guardian if an unauthorized fetcher will pick up a student. This includes relatives of the student.
• DLSL office hours are up to 5:00 pm only. Students (in the afternoon sessions) must be picked up before that time. DLSL may not be held responsible for students who stay in school beyond office hours.

Jewelry and Gadgets
• Parents and guardians are advised to refrain from sending their children to school with expensive jewelry, gadgets and large amounts of cash as the school will not be liable for the loss of such.
• Use of toys, gadgets and other electronic equipment inside the classroom is strictly prohibited. These will be confiscated by teachers and returned to the parent or legitimate guardian after conference has been made.
• Violators will be dealt with accordingly as stipulated in the Student Handbook.

Vehicle Stickers and Parking
• Parents, guardians, fetchers with vehicles are not allowed to park inside the campus unless on official business. Only faculty, staff, junior and senior college students will be allowed to park inside the campus. DLSL shall not allow parents or guardians to leave their vehicles behind and return during dismissal time.
• Vehicles without stickers shall not be allowed entry. Green stickers are for pass-thru, loading and unloading only. School service vehicles are only entitled to a green sticker and will not be allowed to park inside.
• Only one sticker per family per vehicle is allowed.
• For parents or guardians with vehicles who bring in food, a green sticker is also required. The vehicle will be allowed to park (no double parking) for a maximum of 30 minutes only. Parents, guardians and nannies (yayas) are then required to secure a visitor’s pass from the College lobby security. The “no styro” policy also applies here.
• The stretch from the entrance gate, through the loading and unloading bay, up to the old Centen, now the Capilla parking area, shall be used for loading and unloading only. No vehicles will be allowed to park in these areas.
• DLSL reserves the right to bar entry to vehicles and drivers who do not submit themselves to security inspection and who do not abide by the parking rules and regulations of the school.
• Please observe traffic rules at the Lorenzo Ruiz/Side gate area. The city allows transient parking along the DLSL perimeter wall only. This is public jurisdiction and is beyond the scope of DLSL’s traffic and parking policy.

Suspension of Classes
• Based on the guidelines issued by the Department Of Education (DepEd Order No. 28 s.2005), classes at the preschool level shall be automatically suspended without need of any announcements when Typhoon Signal No. 1 is raised by PAGASA.
• Classes at preschool and grade school levels shall be automatically suspended without need of any announcements when Typhoon Signal No. 2 is raised by PAGASA.
• Suspension of classes in special cases as announced by the DepEd Regional Director.
• Suspension of classes in special cases as announced by Local Government Officials.
• In cases where conditions endanger the lives and safety of students, teachers and staff, DLSL Officials may use discretion in suspending classes.
• In cases where rains are heavy, causing floods in certain areas, parents shall make the decision on whether or not they should send their children to school, taking into consideration the health and safety of their children. In this eventuality, DLSL shall excuse the children for the absence made provided a letter from parents or legitimate guardian is presented to the Year Level Moderator.
